Exhibitors’ top products to be showcased at our Christmas Fair

We asked our exhibitors about what’s new and exciting in their world and to name a special product that they’ll be showcasing at our Christmas Fair on Sunday 9 December.

Trealy Farm Charcuterie has had a great year. They provided eight tonnes of Monmouthshire charcuterie for the Olympics & Paralympics this summer (Athletes Village and hospitality).

230 Pizza Express restaurants across the UK now carry their bespoke Fennel Salami. This features on chef Valentine Warner’s ‘Fennel & Salami Chef Special’ pizza which he’s designed for the company.

They are co-launching ‘Butty’ hot food with Joel Wright of Wright’s Independent Food Emporium in Nantgaredig that uses Trealy Farm Charcuterie Meats, Alex Gooch’s Breads from Hay-on-Wye, and Usk River condiments from Abergavenny, to fashion truly scrumptious artisan meat meals to-go.

Oh – and they’ve picked up numerous awards along the way including a Three-Star Gold Award in  the Great Taste Awards and  Gold for Best Meat Product in the True Taste Awards.

They are launching 12 new products, including a new range of Air-Dried Duck and Lamb products.  Top recommendation for the Fair? Their Charcuterie platter – 200g with a selection of six sliced air-dried meats and salamis. One month ‘Best Before’ on each pack. Beautiful to look at and a perfect gift or an instant dinner party starter.

Chestnut Meats are planning to bring lots of diced goat, perfect for for warming the family on cold winter nights, cooked as stews,curries and casseroles.
There will be two types of goats cheese, the Kinnerton Ash,a firm cheese, excellent for cooking with, and the Whitehaven, a Camembert style cheese, ideal for crackers. There will also be goat sausages, steaks and joints. They’ll be selling gift boxes for £40 which include a selection of fresh goat meat,(you choose) delivered by overnight courier anywhere in the UK, (excluding highlands & Islands) a unique Christmas present for your friends and loved ones. Also selling free range bronze turkeys and outdoor reared geese that we can deliver fresh, Christmas week, to your doorstep.

Nick Seward will be dishing up the ‘mighty soft-shell crab’. First introduced at our September Festival in the fish market they proved to be the perfect street food. Enjoy with sweet chilli sauce.

Burren Bread Co – will have wonderful Irish Porter cake.This is a traditional fruit cake eaten in Ireland over the festive period. Plus spiced gingerbread and a selection of soda breads

Breckland Orchard – say their Plum and Cherry Cordial – otherwise known as Posh Squash is top of their product list this Christmas. Perfect for mixing with water (still or sparkling) but also fabulous for making into a non-alcoholic punch mixed with apple juice, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg  They’ll also be selling their delicious non-alcoholic alternative to Mulled Wine.

Lysh Liqueurs will be bringing damson gin liqueurs, sloe gin with almond liqueurs and gift boxes that include liqueurs, cheese, Christmas cake and puddings –  all made with the ginned damsons.

Truffle Hunter – their top product for the Fair is their special three-bottle Xmas Truffle Oil sets.

Usk River are creating special seasonal chutneys and relishes to spice up those winter menus, and they’re really  proud that their delicious Pineapple Punch is the winner of one of their five Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Foods. It’s a blend of tangy fresh and intense rich dried pineapples combined with coconut, spiced with star anise, ginger and red chillies. This chutney pairs well with traditional Christmas fare such as gammons, hams, charcuterie and all types of cheese.  It also makes a sumptuous side-relish with Indian snacks and served with party nibbles.

Miranda’s Preserves will serving up their very special Lemon Curd and its partner in crime, Tipsy Lemon Curd – always big favourites at Abergavenny and a lovely Christmas Treat.

Hardwick Hampers will be showcasing their True Taste Gold award-winning cheese sable biscuits – flavoured with cheddar and parmesan cheeses and a hint of nutmeg. An excellent accompaniment to a cheese board, as a cheese course or just on their own.

Coity Bach will be bringing their Gold True Taste of Wales Sausages as featured on TV.

Hay Wines have a fantastic bottle of Vintage Port which visitors will be able to taste:  Quinta de Ventozelo Vintage Port 2003.  Dense, brambly fruit with licks of liquorice, spice, coffee & tobacco followed by a long lingering finish. The Wine Spectator recently voted Ventozelo as the value brand of the year. This will be on sale at £30/bottle

Radnor Preserves are are also True Taste Gold winners and have fabulous new red gift boxes embossed with the Radnor Preserves gold logo – they will make gorgeous christmas presents.
