Henry Dimbleby and Claire Ptak are joining the Dewsall team to make Afternoon Tea at The Dewsall Pop-up in Horsington’s Yard (Saturday 17, 3.30- 5.30pm) an even more scrumptious affair.
Henry and Claire will be in charge of cakes which they will be cooking from their new book Leon: Baking and Puddings. In true Leon style they will be serving up treats that taste good and do you good – plus a dose of the outrageous.
Henry says: “Expect a tower of mini versions of Leon’s favourites – such as the better brownie, Elizabeth’s lemon bars, and ginger and lemon crunch. Gluten-free scones with ‘10 minute’ strawberry and raspberry jam. Mini spelt pissaladieres. Better Carrot Cake and Banana Spelt Bread. And for those who just want a good old slice of cake with their tea, the Triple Chocolate Fantasy cake will be waiting patiently.”
Henry Dimbleby is a founder and director of the highly successful chain of Leon restaurants which supply delicious healthy fast-food to over 50,000 Londoners each week.
Claire Ptak runs Violet, a small but perfectly formed cake company in East London. She was pastry chef at Alice Walters’ legendary Chez Panisse restaurant in San Francisco before moving to London in 2005 where she was instrumental in setting off the cupcake craze.
