Festival “Jewel in The Crown” say organisers of first-ever Abergavenny Business Awards

The first ever Abergavenny Business Awards were held on Friday 23 April at the Angel Hotel and hosted by BBC Wales newsreader, Jamie Owen. A special award was presented for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Abergavenny’ to Chris Wardle and Martin Orbach, the co-founders of the Abergavenny Food Festival. Steve Sulley, marketing partner at UHY Peacheys said, “The food festival is one of the many jewels in Abergavenny’s crown and is responsible for bringing a great deal of business to the area ….. Abergavenny is now a well-known foodie destination and it is evident from many of the entries we had for the awards that other businesses thrive off this and commerce is generated as a result. 1. Congratulations to Chris and Martin – what a wonderful achievement and recognition of the hard work involved in putting on such a great event. I am pleased to have been involved, leading Fungus Forays over the last few years and hope to carry on in a similar vein in the future.

Well done both, and well done AFF!
